Product Review: The Titleist 913 D3 Driver
Compared to the 910 version, the new Titleist 913 D3 doesn’t look much different, but in its first week on TOUR last summer, half of the Titleist staff players switched to the new 913. We wouldn’t be surprised if almost all Titleist sponsored pros on TOUR have switched to the 913 as we turn into the New Year.
Titleist claims that the club was created with a newly developed face insert which we cannot psychically see, but has a big impact on performance. This high-speed, forged face insert is said to create the most consistent driver Titleist has ever designed. With a thicker middle and progressively thinner edge, the forged face insert is designed enhance the club’s overall performance. Titleist claims that both the speed and distance improvements have been executed to offer more forgiveness on mis-hits.
The Titleist 913 D3 driver was designed and built for more speed and distance and promises increased performance with the most precise fit available to all serious golfers. “The new 913 D2 and 913 D3 drivers offer the highest performance of any adjustable drivers on the market, particularly when it comes to speed and forgiveness,” said Dan Stone, Vice President of Research and Development, for Titleist Golf Clubs. “Every serious golfer, from TOUR players to amateurs of all skill levels, will experience more distance potential and better driving performance with 913.”
TOUR players using the 913 driver have already combined for eight victories across all worldwide professional tours, including Rory McIlroy’s PGA Championship, Deutsche Bank Championship and Nick Watney’s The Barclays win in August of 2012.
