I recently received two different jackets to test from Sunice that are part of their Sports Layers collection.  My immediate reaction after opening the package was along the lines of “wow, these look and feel amazing!”

Sunice Golf Apparel Review

I quickly tried both the Allendale Jacket and the Sutter Jacket on and walked around the house/yard with them.  Grabbing a golf club from the bag, I began to swing like I was out on the course to see how flexible and comfortable the material was.

I’ll dive into the specifics in a minute but off the bat I’ll tell you that I love these jackets so much that I’ve even been wearing them out on a cool nights and I’m certain that they would also be great on the ski slopes, and definitely on a cool day fishing on the lake.

Sport Layers Collection

It’s clearly evident in the product that Sunice prides themselves on their design and material quality.  Their Sports Layers Collection designs can enhance a golfer’s overall physical performance and ultimately improve their golf game.  Sunice Performance Layers are designed to create an apparel layering system that allows golfers to play at their best no matter what the weather conditions are.

Whether it’s a cool early morning tee-time or a damp, swampy day, it’s key to add that extra layer of warmth without adding the weight or bulk.  Thermal properties combined with moisture wicking attributes, and bright color combinations are just a few of the details that make Sunice’s layering pieces stand out from the other jackets on the market.

The Allendale

This super stretch fabric thermal layer jacket is not only sleek and great looking, it’s also extremely comfortable and surprisingly affordable.  The jacket comes in multiple colors including green, blue, gray, white, and black and has a unique flatlock stitching and ultra-cool welded right chest pocket.  The “close-to-the-body” fit jacket is made with lightweight stretch thermal and is made of 22% spandex and 78% Polyester that offers plenty of breathability you require on course.  Throw this bad boy on and odds are you’re playing partners will be asking you where you got your jacket!

We were able to find this jacket in a size large on Amazon for a discounted cost of just $68.60.  Golfsmith carries this line as well but for the slightly higher price of $100.

The Sutter

The Sutter is a highly functional lightweight pullover with a half-zip mock neck.  This cool looking jacket also comes equipped with moisture wicking materials to let the rain bounce right off of you.  We suggest this jacket for those wet round and the Allendale (above) on a cool dry day.

The jacket is made from fully stretchable garments with a “close-to-body” fit and an invisible chest pocket.  Also, the unique design of this jacket offers a textured side insert in heathered fabric.  It makes sense to have one of these jackets rolled up nicely in the side pocket of your golf bag in the event the clouds gather and the skies open during your round—you’ll be thankful you have it.

You can score your own Sutter Jacket on Amazon in Blue or Charcoal for $89.95.

The Fit

The hardest part of wearing outerwear on the course is the possibility of having it hinder of your golf swing.  A baggy, loose, or floppy jacket could change your swing and the comfort level might just adversely affect your mood.  Let’s face it, us diehard golfers will play in all types of weather on the course, whether it is rain, wind, cold chill, snow, or fog so we’re going to need something to protect us against the elements.

The Sunice collection fits snug against your body without a tight or loose feeling.  In essence, the jacket feels “just right” and you hardly know you’re wearing it.  Simply put, this is by far the best golf jacket I’ve worn on the course to date.

The Feel

You can immediately tell from holding these jackets that the material used to create them is top notch.  Of course you can grab a cheap and flimsy jacket off the rack at your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls which will keep the rain or cold air from getting to you but odds are it won’t last long, look stylish, or allow you to swingi properly.

When looking for the right “feel” in any type of golf apparel, you need to determine it will allow for comfort and ease to move through the ball, walk a long track, and survive Mother Nature’s brutal elements.

These jackets passed all of our tests and they feel and look fantastic on my body.

The Cost

Sunice golf jackets range from around $70 to $150 depending on the size and style you choose.  We consider this pricing to be right in line with most durable and stylish golf jackets and other outerwear.  The good news is that we expect these jackets to last you for many seasons which saves money over the long run.

Where to Get Them

Sunice products are currently available for order on Amazon and Golfsmith.  You can also visit their website for more information about all of their golf apparel products and you also connect with the brand on Twitter or their Facebook page.
