Tour Edge Exotics Tour Proto Wedge Review
A wedge can be classified as many things…a shoe, a sandwich, a football formation, a piece of material used in construction, a type of salad and yes, a golf club. And by the way I’m not going to get into the wedgy!
Tour Edge Men’s Exotics Tour Proto V1.1 Wedge is a breakthrough club that might help you produce some magic around the greens. And let’s face it, the wedge is certainly one of the more personal and versatile clubs in your bag. It features a 303 milled stainless steel face, which is a darker metal than most clubs. You don’t have to worry about the sun reflecting into your eyes with these babies! The Tour Edge Exotics Tour Proto has a softer feel than most wedges mainly because of a thermal plastic elastomer that is right behind the clubface.
On top of all this, the Tour Proto features the new True Temper DG Spinner shaft. The steel shaft, which has a reverse bubble look (think TaylorMade bubble shaft of the 1990’s) just below the grip where it narrows and then expands can increase the ball’s spin rate by as much as 700 rpm. This means your pitch shots will stop more quickly than you may be accustomed to. But having the ability to stop shots precisely is exactly what any player desires.
The Exotics Tour Proto combines a classic look that does produce a nice feel. These wedges come in lofts of varying degrees from 50 all the way to 62. They’re also available in left-handed, and women’s models.
