Now that the Memorial Tournament has concluded, we yet again see a player who has won for the very first time in his career.  McGirt has now gained a 3-year exemption to stay on the tour and also made a little more than his last golf victory, where he only took home around 16,000 dollars.  McGirt will take home $1.5 million dollars after his win at the Memorial.

It was no easy win for McGirt by any means.  He had to battle his swing all weekend, never mind the fact that he had to play two extra holes in a playoff against Jon Curran.  However, it all worked out in the end for the 36-year-old.

McGirt beat out plenty of household names including Spieth, Day, McIlroy, D. Johnson, Kuchar, and many others.  The future may indeed hold some other wins for McGirt.  We shall see…
