Who is the presenting sponsor? ProMedica. They are an Ohio based non-profit integrated health and well-being organization.
Although ProMedica is the presenting sponsor the championships title will not change. Instead, they will become a part of the USGA’s global program to help extend the reach of the USGA’s mission to champion and advance the game.

This will not be the only increase in the U.S. Women’s Open purse size in the next five years as Mike Whan, USGA CEO, said that the purse will be increased to $11 million and $12 million over the next five years.
The winner of the U.S. Women’s Open this summer, being played at Pine Needles Lodge & Country Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina, will take home $1.8 million. This will be the richest single payday in women’s golf history.

This is absolutely awesome for the game of golf! This is one huge step forward to leveling the playing field between the men’s and women’s games which is much needed.
I, personally, cannot wait to see some of the games greats in Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang take on Southern Pines with the largest purse in women’s golf history on the line.
How excited are you?
