Tiger Woods Returns To J.P. McManus Pro-Am Among LIV Defector Packed Field
The field at the J.P. McManus Pro-Am this year in Limerick, Ireland is shaping up to be quite interesting. Not only is Tiger Woods teeing off in a tune-up for St. Andrews, but he will also be joined by some fellow and former colleagues on the PGA Tour.

Tiger will be competing against some of his closest competitors and friends in Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and current world ranked number one golfer Scottie Scheffler. Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy had been reported to have visited Tiger Wood after his horrific leg injury. Both Thomas and McIlroy have been outspoken against LIV Golf and the growing list of defectors.

Bringing the likes of Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez, Brooks Koepka, Matthew Wolff, and Bryson DeChambeau, amongst others, in this star studded field, brings two groups with different ideology together on the golf course with a new question…

LIV golf has kicked off their calendar and faced off with the PGA, but since some of the biggest names in golf have since defected, the second stop at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon, has garnered new attention as the field grows with marquee names.

In a tune up session one week before The Open Championship at The Old Course at St. Andrews, Tiger will undoubtedly face questions at the podium about the pending major, and those running for the massive checks from LIV. Mr. Woods will be teeing off for the first time since withdrawing from the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in May. Previously, Tiger has never withdrawn from a major, but the physical toll post injury was clear.

While Tiger has seemed unwavering for his participation at St. Andrews, a course that he loves, it was unclear if he would be able to stick to that plan. All signs point to a return at The Old Course, as well as a return to the podium for questions about morals and ethics.

Undoubtedly softened to the media, affable and engaging in recent years, it remains to be seen if Tiger dodges or answers questions about his colleagues directly. The world will certainly be listening.
