Bryson DeChambeau Posts Long Statement After Long Drive Championship Loss, Twitter Yawns
A loss in a long drive competition will make a man take stock of his life, apparently.
Following his loss in the final of World Long Drive 2022 to Martin Gorgmeier, Bryson DeChambeau posted a two-page statement to his Twitter account.

The early part of the 2020 U.S. Open champion’s season was derailed due to some injuries, and once he was healthy, DeChambeau reportedly picked up a $100 million signing bonus to join LIV Golf.
Part of DeChambeau’s statement reads:
“I hope everyone gets the chance to fairly see who I am one day. I may not do everything right by everyone’s eyes, but I will do my best to be a better version of myself.”
DeChambeau, like other LIV golfers, has lost fan support and has received little sympathy when they’ve brought up the backlash they’ve received from fans.
Bryson, I used to follow you everywhere & love what you were doing, but your switch to the LIV tour made me eliminate everything done or accomplish by you. Someone who betray what made him so popular and wealthy can’t have my respect. Sorry, but you made a big life mistake.

You can read some of the responses to the tweet yourself—as always on Twitter, some are more eloquent than others!
DeChambeau will be teeing it up with the other LIV Golf pros this weekend in Bangkok, Thailand, in the series’ fifth event of eight in 2022.
