Reigning KPMG Women’s PGA Champion, In Gee Chun Denied Locker Room Access

In Gee Chun, who is the defending champion of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, got herself into a pickle Wednesday morning. The three-time major winner couldn’t get in the locker room despite showing her LPGA player badge, but security wouldn’t budge.

The missing key was her tournament credential which was tucked away in her golf bag. The golf bag was with her caddy, who was not with In Gee at the time. However, another person came to the scene to address the concerns.

This individual immediately recognized In Gee Chun and identified her as the defending champion. She was quickly granted access after that. In Gee took the whole situation in stride by smiling about it with humility when addressed by the media. Despite all this, she is trying to get back to her consistent play since her injury back in October that sidelined her for a month.

The 28-year-old is looking to get back into her consistent play as she has not finished better than T-18th this season. Now is the time, as there isn’t a better place to do it than where she was victorious the previous year.

Hopefully, this crack-up at the beginning of the week will lighten any possible pressure for the three-time major winner to achieve the goals she has set out for the second major of the year.
