The United States Ryder Cup Team made its first appearance at the Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome, Italy, three weeks ahead of its matchup with the Europeans.

Images captured earlier today show some members of the U.S. Ryder Cup Team, including Brooks Koepka and Brian Harman, at the course getting a practice round in as the Americans will attempt to win their first Ryder Cup in three decades on European soil.

The team is headed by Captain Zach Johnson and automatic picks Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele. Brooks Koepka, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and Sam Burns rounded out the Captain’s Picks, which were submitted, finalized, and announced by Captain Johnson a couple of weeks ago.

The Ryder Cup’s previous edition was played at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, and the Americans brought the heat to the Europeans by romping them 19-9 in what has been referred to as the “Slaughter by the Water.”

Dustin Johnson led the Americans in terms of performance, going a perfect 5-0-0 in all five of his matches during the weekend.

This time around, it may be a slightly closer contest as the Europeans have not been touched by the Americans since 1993 in terms of tournaments to occur in Europe.

The Americans edged the Europeans 15-13 in the 1993 competition, which was played at The Belfry, Brabazon Course in Wishaw, Warwickshire, England.
