Greg Norman Gives Stern Warning to LIV Golfers: ‘Pull Your Socks Up and Get Going’

Greg Norman is well aware the LIV Golf season is winding down, and he delivered a stern warning to players who are on the cusp of being dumped from the tour.

There are a handful of names, including Branden Grace, Scott Vincent, Kieran Vincent, Kalle Samooja, Harold Varner, Pat Perez, Mito Pereira, and Jinichiro Kozuma, who are either in the relegation zone or hovering close to it. If these players, among others, do not get themselves in gear, they’ll be trying to find a new place to play in 2025.

Norman made it clear to players — get going or get lost:

“We are in the meat and bones of the season. Players know there is relegation coming up, and things are going to change up very quickly…These guys who are on the edge have got to pull their socks up and get themselves going.”

A name not mentioned previously who is in danger of losing their spot in LIV is Bubba Watson. Norman says you may not be able to tell that he’s under pressure, but he’s absolutely under pressure:

“You look at the players that are in that zone, they know they’re in that zone, the relegation zone Bubba Watson, for example, I watched Bubba on TV all day yesterday. You can see his face going up and down, so you don’t think he’s under pressure. Damn right, he’s under pressure.”

Watson acknowledged that his presence is not a necessity and he could be booted in an interview last August:

“I told my team if they don’t think I am good enough to play, they can kick me out and we will put another good golfer in my place. I am going to play until they kick me out.”
