Dustin Johnson cruised to another dominant victory and moves to second in the FedEx Cup Standings and reclaims his number one world ranking heading into the US Open. Johnson said, “I knew coming into the week that I was playing really well, I liked my chances coming into this week.”

Johnson had a four stroke lead over Andrew Putnam, who began to falter after shooting 64 on Saturday, when he came to 18. Johnson holed out a nine iron from the fairway to win by six shots. “It was the perfect club and it was tracking the whole way and kind of a bonus for it go to in.”

Johnson said this win was a “big statement“ that he made heading into next week. He highlighted the importance of hitting fairways and having distance control he said, “I felt like I putted better this week but I really hit the ball well so that gives me a lot of confidence.”
He will be looking for his second US Open victory in three years after winning at Oakmont in 2016.
