Golf Podcast 050: Learning to Read the Green
It might seem like an obvious point, but reading the green is a crucial skill for any golfer that hopes to be a good putter. Without the ability to pick a proper line and then match it with a good stroke, there is very little hope for the ball to find the bottom of the cup.
Unfortunately, green reading is something that most golfers don’t practice – or really even think about. They look over their putts quickly before getting ready to hit one, but there often isn’t much thought put into it considering just how important it really is. Only once you know what you are looking for, and how to look for it, will you become a good green reader and give your putts a much better chance of going in.
In this episode of The Golf Podcast we’ll touch on five of the major keys to green reading. Do a good job of learning these points, and applying them on the golf course, and watch the number of putts you make start to increase dramatically.
In this Show You Will Learn:
- How learning to read the green properly will help you rapidly shave strokes from your game.
- Clues and extra information you can use to help find breaks and other undulations you might have missed.
- Why every golfer should have a putting pre-shot routine.
- And much more.
