NEWS: Rickie Fowler Receives PGA Championship Invite

Despite not having the greatest year, Rickie Fowler has officially received a special invite to play in the PGA Championship next month.

Fowler who could have qualified by sneaking into the top 100 in the OWGR, just missed his chance, as he currently sits at number 111.

However, according to sources, Fowler’s demonstrated enough to earn himself an invite.

Confirmed with a @PGA official that Rickie Fowler and John Catlin have received special invitations to the PGA Championship “based on their performances, playing records and OWGR position.”

Prior to the missing the Masters last month, Fowler had qualified for every major since the 2010 U.S. Open. This invite represents a chance for Fowler to get back on track, and hopefully qualify for this year’s U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
