Golf tech is becoming an increasingly competitive field, with manufacturers in a race to develop the most accurate, premium feature-equipped device to set themselves apart from their competitors.

Shot Scope, a leading international manufacturer of GPS-based golf management systems, is now adding additional features to its Strokes Gained Analysis more feature that debuted earlier this year.

Specifically, Shot Scope Strokes Gained updates now include benchmarking against 6 different handicaps. More detailed statistics available, including deeper strokes gained analysis on all areas of the game.

Benchmarking will allow Shot Scope users to see where they compare to golfers of a similar ability and allow them to set goals based on each defined benchmark. Golfers can identify the areas of the game they perform strongly in compared to others but also compare against a lower handicap benchmark to help identify key areas for improvement. This allows realistic performance goals to be set, when aiming to reduce their handicap.

  • Strokes gained benchmarking against 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 handicaps now available
  • More detailed strokes gained data in each aspect of the game
  • Front-nine and back-nine strokes gained data
  • Par 3, Par 4 and Par 5 strokes gained data
  • Added statistics to performance pages
  • Green success by Distance/Lie type
  • Proximity to hole by Distance/Lie Type
  • Short Game Proximity by Distance/Lie Type
  • Up & Down % based on Distance

“Strokes gained is a way of analyzing where a player sits when comparing every aspect of their performance with other players within a dataset,” said David Hunter, CEO, Shot Scope. “Through our performance tracking platform and based on swing data captured from thousands of golfers worldwide who use our GPS Smart Watches, this approach to performance analysis allows golfers to gain a greater understanding of areas within of their game they may need to work on to improve their overall scoring average. We accomplish this by isolating individual aspects of a player’s game and comparing it to the entire Shot Scope dataset to deliver efficient results.”

Hunter adds, “Thanks to the performance tracking capabilities of our smart golf watches, thousands of golfers have reduced their handicaps. The progression for our performance tracking platform is based on direct user-feedback which signifies strokes gained as a hugely important aspect of game improvement. With Shot Scope golfers have the ability to assess their game against others at the touch of a button which helps identify areas of their game that need to be developed and leading them to play better golf.”

The new Strokes Gained Benchmarking is available NOW, so make sure to check your dashboard and app to see how you can lower your scores ASAP!  And for a more detailed explanation of how valuable Strokes Gained Analysis can be for amateurs, make sure to check out Shot Scope’s eBook (here)!
