After 16 years in the NBA and earning nearly $90 million, former NBA Champion turned golf fanatic J.R. Smith has been granted NCAA eligibility to play golf for North Carolina A&T State University! This is like something out of a movie.

It seems that even though J.R. has retired, he hasn’t lost that competitive spirit. It’s becoming more and more common to see former pro athletes take on the challenge of competitive golf. J.R. has a solid swing, he’s in great shape and he’s only 35.

It goes to show you it’s never too late to go back to school or start chasing a new dream. Best of luck to him.

I’ve seen college golf up close before and it won’t be easy for him but I’m sure he’s ready for the challenge.

Do you think you have what it takes to go back to school and compete at the collegiate level? Or would you get smoked by a bunch of teenagers?

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
