GET FIT: No. 1-Ranked LPGA Pro Nelly Korda Plays A TSi1 Driver

Getting fit for golf clubs is an incredible, but stressful process.  Everyone goes in with a million thoughts in their head, in addition to hundreds of the regular swing thoughts: Will I get the shaft [Insert Name] plays?  I need that driver because [Insert Name] just won [Insert Event]?

Fortunately, there are several top tier fitters located across the country, such as Club Champion, that golfers can visit to try out a near limitless amount of combinations to help them play their best.  And on that note, my only piece of advice is play what performs best.  Don’t worry about brands, names, descriptions, flexes, weights, etc., because none of that will matter when you’re scoring, breaking personal records, and taking money from your friends.

In fact, that’s exactly what No.1-Ranked LPGA Golfer Nelly Korda did.

The Titleist TSi1 driver is described as a driver for mid- to high-handicap golfers that have a moderate swing speed.  The lightweight design means the TSi1 is 40 grams lighter than other drivers, and the center-of-gravity has been positioned to promote a high, draw-biased ball flight.

Although that description might lead you to think the TSi1 is reserved for golfers who can’t swing their driver over 85 MPH or have difficulty getting their slice under control, the TSi1 is the club of choice for the top-ranked LPGA golfers, who also brought an Olympic Golf Medal in 2021.

In sum, if you’re getting fit, I strong recommend that you go in with a blank slate.  Check your brand biases at the door, try your best to ignore the club and head shaft combinations, weights, flexes, etc.

Just focus on giving each shot your best swing and let the launch monitors tell the story and reveal what will help you play your best.
