Can Billy Horschel BEAT Tiger Woods’ WGC Match-Play Record?
Tiger Woods has many records that will be very hard for anyone to ever break but Billy Horschel is approaching his WGC Match Play record. Woods currently holds the record for most consecutive wins in matches in the event at 13 wins.

From 2003-2005, Woods won the 13 consecutive matches and also became the first ever player to ever successfully defend his match play title.
Slowly but surely Horschel is approaching that 13 win record and he is already halfway there. After beating Tom Hoge and Min Woo Lee this week, Horschel now has 7 consecutive wins and is just 6 away from Woods’ record.
In order to tie or beat Woods’ record Horschel will need to become just the second player to ever defend their match play title and he will also need to win his first match in next years event, but it is still possible!

Horschel said, “There are stats that Tiger has accomplished and that he has that are just mind-blowing. Things that you just can’t imagine and when you think about 13 straight matches won, you don’t think that’s a big deal, but when you realize it, it’s two years of match play and not losing almost. There’s nothing I can say that someone hasn’t already said about him, so if somehow I was able to continue on a great streak and win the next five matches and then come back and win one match next year, it would be really cool to have my name next to him.”
Never say never but Horschel has some tough competition to go up against still including Thomas Pieters today.
Do you think Horschel can beat Tiger’s record?
