The Drive, Chip, & Putt at Augusta Brought All The Feels

Leading up to the main event everyone obsesses over (me included) are smaller competitions. Not on the level of talent but on popularity.

As a father, I’ve become more and more interested in the drive, chip, and putt competition. My kids don’t play the game (no interest but I’m trying) but I love seeing these kids compete on the big stage with their age groups.

Every year there are one or two stories that come out of this event that just pulls on your heartstrings. This year is no different. This moment between Autumn Solesbee and her adopted father is priceless.

The joy this little girl has is just pouring out. The smile on her father’s face is something any parent can relate to. To top it off, she gets a special hug from Bubba Watson who has adopted children of his own.

Moments like these are what make events like this extra special. I love this time of the year and it’s only the beginning.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
