Scottie Scheffler is proving that his No. 1 ranking is no fluke with a solid showing at The Masters on Friday.

Round two proved to be no walk in the park as winds gusted and swirled in different directions, making shot shaping absolutely necessary.

Battling through the difficult conditions, Scheffler righted the ship after a shaky start, going bogey-birdie-bogie in the opening three holes of the front nine.

Scottie closed out the front nine with birdies on 7 and 8 to finish the front -1.

Carrying the momentum into the back nine, Scheffler birdied 12, 13,15, and 16, improving to -5 for the day.

Scottie is currently the sole leader with a score of -8, showing that his world ranking status of no. 1 overall is no fluke.

Coming into The Masters, Scheffler won an impressive 3 of his last 5 starts on the PGA Tour, riding his surging momentum into the first major of the season.

With truly difficult conditions in a major tournament pressure cooker, Scottie Scheffler seems as cool and calm as ever.

Do you think Scottie Scheffler has what it takes to hold off the field and get fitted for a green jacket on Sunday?
