Thank You, Golf Moms.

For all of the rides to the range, lessons, tournaments, or to the store for a new wedge or sleeve of Pro V1s. For all the packed lunches for the course, the pep talks, and all of the pictures you took while holding the trophies for all the family to see. For all these reasons and so many more, we thank you, golf moms.

Without your support, we could never have fallen so hard for the game that means so much to us. It is undoubtedly because of the golf mom that some of the most recognizable names in golf have been able to chase their dreams and flourish into the recognizable faces we have come to adore.

Let’s take a look at how some of these golfers have been impacted by their mothers.

Kultida Woods has been the rock of support in the fascinating life of her son, Eldrick Woods, or as you may know him, Tiger.

Through the ups and downs of Tiger’s life, one thing has remained constant; the support of their mom.

It was revealed at Tiger’s hall of fame induction in 2022 that his parents had taken a second mortgage on their home to enable Tiger to chase his dream of becoming the great professional that he is today. Also well known is the story of how Kultida would make Tiger’s iconic headcover, “Frank.”

Even though she has handed off the duties nowadays to Jane Spicer, the hand-sewn message of Rak jak Mea Thai for “Love from Mom.”

Long revered as one of the greatest golfers of all time, Lee Trevino was raised by a single mother, Juanita, who was a day laborer. The grit and determination to succeed certainly led to the success of Trevino, winner of 6 major titles and 29 PGA Tour events.

Without her sacrifices, who knows if the world would have been able to see the greatness of Lee Trevino all these years.

Not only do golf moms provide a pat on the back when things are going well, but they’ve also been known to guide the moral compass when virtue is needed.

At the 2021 Players Championship, Viktor Hovland self reported a rules violation that was brought to his attention by his mother during a post round phone call.

Completely oblivious to the blunder, Hovland immediately reported that he did not replace his ball mark to the correct location after clearing way for Justin Thomas to putt. Old rules would have dictated a disqualification, but a two shot penalty was assessed.

Proving costly, Hovland missed the cut by two shots, but most importantly, he proved his character by following the guidance of his mom.

If you thought that golf mom duty ended without a special example of motherly love, you’d be mistaken.

At The Panama Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour this past February, Clay Feagler found himself in a tough position when his caddie couldn’t make it due to passport issues. His mom, Karen stepped in.

Finishing the tournament tied for 25th place, the experience was memorable for both mom and son, with Karen stating that she had never caddied for him before.

In light moments while mic’d up, Karen was seen and heard telling Clay to wipe his nose.

For all of these reasons and so many more, we thank you golf moms for all that you’ve done and all that you continue to do for us.

Without your love and support, not only would we be without some of the great tour professionals that we have mentioned, but each of us would be nothing without the golf mom in our lives that has helped us in so many ways.
