Cameron Young Named Arnold Palmer Award Winner After Spectacular Rookie Season

Cameron Young, 25, came out firing on all cylinders in his first season on the PGA Tour. He managed to finish 2nd place a total of five times throughout the season. He missed the cut at the Masters by shooting consecutive 77’s. However, he did not let that derail his season.

Young went on in his next three starts to finish T3, T2, and T3 at the PGA Championship. Cameron again hit a low point in the following three times he played by finishing T60th and missing the cut twice. Again he bounced back even stronger by almost winning his first major at historic St. Andrews with another second-place finish in the following start. Young’s future is extremely bright as he is currently tied for 16th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). 

Young was just named the Arnold Palmer Award recipient. What does this award entail?

The Arnold Palmer Award is presented to the individual who is the Rookie of The Year. Before Arnold Palmer’s passing, it was previously awarded to the season-long-money leader.
