Tom Watson Has Shoulder Surgery After Karting Accident

Tom Watson has undergone shoulder surgery after a karting accident earlier this week.

2022 has arguably not been his year, as the eight-time major champion got divorced after three months of marriage, citing a difficulty with his wife’s health causing the split.

 

The 73-year-old had left shoulder replacement surgery in New Orleans on Friday after the crash on his farm in Kansas.

Watson competed in the four-hole honorary tournament before this year’s Open at St Andrews. He will be due some weeks of recovery – but may take up a position as honorary starter at the 2023 Masters in Georgia next April.
