$100 Mil Player Impact Program Results are IN
The 2022 PIP results are in, with an extra $60 million added to the prize pool from the inaugural start of this in 2021. Also, ten more spots were added from last year as well, making 20 spots available to players providing a healthy end of the year bonus. Defending champion Tiger Woods took it home once again, making $7 million more than last year totaling $15 million for his winnings.
Tiger, Rory, Spieth and JT finish 1-4 in the Player Impact Program.
Tiger, Rory, Spieth and JT will play in the next edition of The Match on Dec. 10.

The criteria for the PIP measure the Nielsen rating, Google reach, Q-Score MVP Index, and Meltwater mentions. Tiger finished 1st in all of the categories but one. Scottie Scheffler led in the Meltwater mentions, which are taken into effect on how often a player’s name is mentioned in news articles. Even with a green jacket, four wins, and PGA Tour Player of the Year still wasn’t enough for Scottie to crack the Top 5.
Here are the official results of the 2022 PIP:
- Tiger Woods ($15 million)
- Rory McIlroy ($12 million)
- Jordan Spieth ($9 million)
- Justin Thomas ($7.5 million)
- Jon Rahm ($6 million)
- Scottie Scheffler ($5.5 million)
- Xander Schauffele ($5 million)
- Matt Fitzpatrick ($5 million)
- Will Zalatoris ($5 million)
- Tony Finau ($5 million)
- Collin Morikawa ($3 million)
- Shane Lowry ($3 million)
- Kevin Kisner ($3 million)
- Max Homa ($3 million)
- Billy Horschel ($3 million)
- Rickie Fowler ($2 million)
- Adam Scott ($2 million)
- Jason Day ($2 million)
- Patrick Cantlay ($2 million)
- Viktor Hovland ($2 million)
Three players would’ve qualified under the new measurement criteria, which was announced in August and adds an awareness component while removing Q-Score and MPV Index, and were thus awarded a share of this year’s total purse:
- Hideki Matsuyama ($2 million)
- Cameron Young ($2 million)
- Sam Burns ($2 million)

It could be a coincidence, but as seen above, the top 4 (Tiger, Rory, Spieth and JT) are all playing in The Match. Seems like a smart business move to get those most influential players to play an exhibition.
