Luke Donald Will Captain Team Europe for a Third Straight Ryder Cup

In a move that probably won’t surprise many golf fans, Team Europe has officially announced that Luke Donald will return as Ryder Cup captain for a third consecutive time.

The Englishman will lead Europe again at the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland, giving him a chance to make Ryder Cup history.

Donald has already guided Europe to back-to-back victories over the United States, first in Rome in 2023 and then again in New York at Bethpage Black in 2025. Those wins restored European momentum in the event and re-established the team culture that has long been one of Europe’s biggest strengths in the competition.

One of the biggest reasons for bringing Donald back is simple: stability.
