Jon Rahm Quits Tiger Woods’ New TGL League as LIV Rumors Swirl
Well, TGL has its first player withdrawal. And it’s a pretty big one.
We’ve been getting snippets of information from the new tech-infused venture – TGL – spearheaded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as their response to LIV golf.
The strategy behind TGL was to attract more eyes, in a shorter time frame, combining the best guys and the latest technology in golf to produce a spectacle under the Florida lights. TGL quickly acquired some huge names, but the list has already begun to decline after today’s bombshell dropped: Jon Rahm has pulled out of the league.
Rahm was on the front cover of the TGL release posters – and overnight disappeared from the website. All mention of TGL has vanished from the Spaniards social media.
This has naturally sparked LIV rumors, and questions the requirements that TGL is putting these guys under.
🚨#BREAKING: Jon Rahm has officially pulled out of the TGL, with the league issuing a statement to @SBJ: “We will miss him during the inaugural TGL season. We understand that players have to balance a lot of different facets of their professional and personal lives and respect… pic.twitter.com/X7WNSVZ8H5

Rahm is very much career focused guy, he chose to remain diplomatic during the early stages of LIV golf and has since won the Masters, becoming a two time major champion and World #1.
It’s a knife to the heart of the new set up – but as a new father and in the prime of his golfing career, perhaps Rahm is going for majors first.
