Round 2: PXG Launches the Black Ops Driver Challenge

Late last summer, PXG did something more or less unheard of: it challenged golfers to come into their fitting studios and put their gamer driver up against the PXG GEN6 models. If your gamer outperformed the GEN6s, either by total distance or tighter dispersion, PXG agreed to issue a $100 Rewards Card.

While this seemed like a non-brainer way to get a free round of golf on PXG, the GEN6 drivers won over 93% of the time when put up against the likes of TaylorMade, Callaway, Cobra, PING and Titleist.

And while that was impressive in itself, PXG is confident that the Black Ops drivers are even more potent. And that’s why they’re reviewing their Driver Challenge.

The PXG Black Ops Driver Challenge invites all golf enthusiasts—both PXG Troops and critics—to bring their current driver to a free fitting for a head-to-head, knockout event. If the PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver is longer in total distance or has a tighter dispersion, PXG wins. If not, PXG will issue a $100 Rewards Card—no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons said:

I’m confident that our new, breakthrough technology will knockout the competition, and if we don’t, I am happy to pony up.”

This new challenge follows an incredibly successful 0311 GEN6 Driver Challenge issued last year. The event saw PXG square off against 44 different brands in the hands of more than 2,200 participants. The result was that the 0311 GEN6 Driver came out victorious 93% of the time, beating each and every of the 44 brands it came up against.

ARE YOU GAME TO TAKE THE BLACK OPS CHALLENGE? HERE’S THE PLAYBOOK:

• Schedule a free PXG Black Ops Driver Challenge on www.PXG.com or call 844.PLAY.PXG.
• Bring your current driver to the custom fitting appointment.
• Once warmed up, the PXG Master Fitter will have you hit five (5) shots with your current driver.
  • Performance data will be captured with a Trackman® launch monitor.
  • The three (3) best shots will be selected and recorded.
• Then, the PXG Master Fitter will conduct a PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver fitting.
• Once complete, the PXG Master Fitter will have you hit five (5) shots with the PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver.
  • The three (3) best shots will be selected and recorded.
• Results will be reviewed, and the winning driver will be identified.
  • Fitter will use Average Total Distance (Carry and Roll) to determine the distance-winning driver.
  • Fitter will use Side Total (+/-) to determine the dispersion-winning driver.
