Anthony Kim finally shot a score in the sixties this week at LIV Singapore, posting a two-under-par round of 69.

Kim carded three birdies and one bogey on Friday, showing glimmers of his previous self as his tempo looked to be much improved during the round.

He has been responding to fans and well-wishers on social media and explained a few days ago that the fire is coming back, and “we will see that dog again,” referring to AK’s competitive edge.

Kim called it “his best ball-striking round since getting back into golf” and is showing promising signs of returning to some shadow of his former self.

Since returning to the game, his performance has obviously been under scrutiny.

Kim burst onto the scene as a young player and had arguably some of the greatest potential of any young professional other than Tiger in the early 2000s. Kim never won that elusive first major, but he was trending the right way. He still holds the record for the most birdies in a round at Augusta National, with 11.

Kim has struggled immensely since returning to professional golf and has been unable to produce anything impressive on LIV. However, his performance in the first round of LIV Singapore suggests his game is trending in the right direction.
