WATCH: Sahith Theegala Hits CRAZY Flop Shot for Birdie at PGA Championship
The first round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club has officially started, and memorable, highlight reel-quality shots are already being hit as the second Major Championship of the year is underway.
Among those out on the course early is Sahith Theegala, who teed off alongside Tyrrell Hatton and Tony Finau at 8:58 a.m. Theegala did not take long to get going, as he hit what could be one of the best short-game shots of the weekend early in the day on Thursday.

Preceding Theegala’s incredible flop on the Par 3 11th hole, the Pepperdine product hit his tee shot 224 yards into the left rough. The 11th hole is playing 216 yards on Thursday.
This left him 22 feet and 10 inches to the hole, and the rough is extremely deep this week, which is pretty standard for Major Championship conditions.
However, Theegala’s short game came to the rescue as he was able to open the face, get the ball up in the air, and sink a birdie. Theegala started the day with back-to-back birdies on 10 and 11, before hitting a bogey on the 12th.
