While the situation that occurred Friday morning in Louisville, Kentucky, was a serious matter, you can always count on your friends to make you crack a smile.

And sometimes even bust your chops, which is what Scottie Scheffler is finding out.

Appearing on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast, PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele said that’s exactly what he and other PGA Tour stars are doing:

Schauffele said a group chat including the two, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and others have been supportive of Scheffler following what happened Friday. But he did say the picture for the group chat was changed to Scheffler’s mug shot.

In other developments, Scheffler’s initial hearing over the arrest, which includes a felony charge of second-degree assault on a police officer, was delayed from this past Tuesday until June 3. He must appear at that hearing in person.

In the meantime, the Louisville Police Department is reportedly launching an investigation into the incident, which is centered around the fact that the arresting officer’s body camera was not turned on. It’s department policy that officers activate their body cameras before the start of any law enforcement encounter.
