Olympic Golf Teams Set: See Who’s Representing the U.S. and Others
The conclusion of the U.S. Open this past weekend solidified the winner of the third Major Championship of the year, but it also confirmed who would be representing their countries at the Olympic Games in Paris later this Summer.
The United States team is comprised of four golfers, each of them players on the PGA TOUR. Despite Bryson DeChambeau’s triumph at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, he will not be on the team.
The teams were composed of the Top 60 players in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), grabbing the top four golfers from each country. The top 15 players in the OWGR are automatically eligible for the Olympic Games, and outside of those players, the Olympic Golf Rankings (OGR) “consists of up to the top two eligible players per country, as long as that country does not already have at least two players in the top 15.”
Team USA
Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa will be the four players representing the United States at the Olympic Games.

Many are protesting the presence of Clark on the team and not Bryson DeChambeau. Clark won the U.S. Open last year but has struggled with consistency this year.
Meanwhile, DeChambeau has performed well in each of this year’s Majors. He was leading at Augusta for The Masters early in the tournament and finished T6. He then finished runner-up to Schauffele at the PGA Championship and won the U.S. Open this past weekend.
Notable Teams from Other Countries
Ireland will have both Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, two friends who will be more than happy to compete with one another,
Spain will feature Jon Rahm, who did not play in the U.S. Open this past weekend due to injury, and David Puig. Both Spaniards are LIV Golfers.
England will feature Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick, a tandem of good players who will surely bring some fire to the competition.
The two-year qualification period for the men’s golf competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has concluded with today’s publication of the final men’s Olympic Golf Rankings.
