It’s the Dog Days of Summer, and (hopefully) you’ve already gotten in plenty of golf—with even more in the pipeline after the peak heat and humidity passes. While you’re trying to digest your rounds in some air conditioning, maybe you’ve identified what equipment is helping you score, as well as what might be holding you back.

Fortunately, TaylorMade has released some new equipment that might be exactly what you need to plug some holes and, ideally, cut some strokes off that handicap before the golf season comes to a close.

New P∙770 and P∙7CB Irons

For skilled amateurs and competitive golfers, TaylorMade has debuted two new irons—the P∙770 and P∙7CB.

The P∙770’s are the newest evolution of TaylorMade’s supercharged, player’s distance irons. Like its 2022 predecessor, the new P∙770 features a forged, hollow-body club head that is paired with a forged, milled club face and filing that help generate ball speed and promote a solid feel. The 2024 iteration, however, benefits from a slightly more compact design, thinner towline and leading edge that’s been refined for more optimal turf interaction.

The P∙7CB, conversely, isn’t an evolution of the P∙7MC. Instead, TaylorMade believes there was room for another forged iron in their lineup that’s slightly more forgiving. Demonstrative of this is that the P∙7CB isn’t a traditional, single-piece forged iron. Instead, the P∙7CB features a multi-material construction.

To explain, the P∙7CB starts life as a billet of 1025 carbon steel, which is then run through a 2,000 ton press to get the tightest grain structure—necessary for consistent feel and performance across the face. Once pressed into the head shape, TaylorMade removes weight through CNC milling to insert tungsten in the sole to help lower the center of gravity—which promotes higher launch, greater peak ball flight and increased spin—for more forgiveness.

This unique construction methodology makes the P∙7CB, in TaylorMade’s opinion, most forgiving forged iron in the market right now.

Both the P∙770 and P∙7CB are available right now online at www.TaylorMade.com and through authorized retailers.
