Hurricane Helene caused a considerable amount of damage to Augusta, Georgia, and golf fans’ first thought was whether Augusta National Golf Club would be impacted.

It was, and drastically. However, don’t expect a delay to the 2025 Masters Tournament, as Chairman Fred Ridley said the first Major Championship of the year will still be taking place on its original schedule.

In an interview with Golf Digest, Ridley detailed Augusta National’s process for getting back together and talked about whether The Masters would take place in its scheduled time slot of April 10-13:

“[The club] will be back in business sooner rather than later. [The Masters] will be on the dates it’s scheduled to be held.”

The storm impacted a greater community, that of Augusta’s. Thousands are without their homes, even more without power.

Ridley has said that, despite the employees at the course needing to put attention to the fallen trees and other damage, their primary focus is helping those who reside in the town:

“What I really have been most proud of is while everyone certainly is focused on getting us up, back and running, our employees have been so focused on the community at large. We’ve been able to take care of our employees, but we’ve also been focused on what the Red Cross and other organizations are doing in Augusta, and our employees really have been a big part of that, which I think really speaks for them and the culture at the club.”
