If you’re an equipment junkie, December is your season. All the manufacturers starting to roll out next year’s offerings to their staff (from the guys on TV to your local pros) for fitting and, ideally, immediate adoption.

When equipment starts to appear on the USGA Conforming List, the rumors (for the most part) get pushed to the side, and the real stuff takes center stage.

Earlier this morning, TaylorMade’s 2025 driver offering—the Qi35—hit the USGA Conforming List. As of right now, three different models, the Qi35 (Standard), Qi35 LS (Low Spin), and Qi35 MAX (High MOI/Forgiveness), in addition to a left-handed variant of the Qi35 (Standard). As is always the case with the USGA filings, there’s limited information about what these new models have going on under the hood.

But looking at the filings, here’s what we see: the Speed Pocket are Inertia Generator will both stay in each of these new models, which appear bolstered by a LOT of (visible) carbon on the sole. Separating the models can be reduced to one feature: weights. To explain, while the Qi35 MAX—which is, in all likelihood, the super-forgiving, high MOI model—features no weights, the standard Qi35 only features one (located in a center position right behind the Speed Pocket). Meanwhile, the Qi35 LS features two, which are respectively labeled “FADE” (on the toe side) and “DRAW” (on the heel).

The LS also features a unique, eye-catching three-pointed star (reminiscent of the Mercedes emblem) that is located right behind the weight “bridge,” while that same star seems to be “exploded” on the sole of the Qi35 and Qi35 MAX.

My biggest takeaway is the trend. Like Callaway’s Elyte, TaylorMade is ditching the adjustable weight track (previously found on the Qi10 LS) in favor of fixed position weights to adjust ball flight.

In addition to the Conforming List filings, it’s worth mentioning that some teaser photos of the new Qi35 broke this weekend, and, simply put, it looks great (presuming you’re also into the stealth, murdered-out, Batman-esqe look).
