PGA TOUR stars are reacting to the loss of a stop in Las Vegas on its annual tournament schedule.

The TOUR will not come to Las Vegas on the 2025 schedule for the first time in 41 years after the Shriners Children’s Open is no longer going to take place at TPC Summerlin. Shriners chose not to continue sponsoring the event, and while other events lost sponsors, they were able to find new ones.

The Vegas stop was not able to find a name to label its yearly stop.

PGA TOUR Senior VP of Communications, Joel Schuchmann, said:

“Shriners Children’s has been a tremendous partner of the Tour since 2008, and we thank them for their support over the last 17 years. The PGA Tour looks forward to returning to Las Vegas in the future.”

Now that it is confirmed with the 2025 season schedule that the PGA TOUR will not come back to Las Vegas, at least for the year, some of the stars are reacting to the news.

Rory McIlroy said:

“It would seem like a miss for golf if we didn’t have a presence in Vegas.”

Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler, the #1 golfer in the world, said:

I think there’s always a place for Vegas in the game of golf. I think with the way the city supports its sports teams and with all the activity that’s always been around Las Vegas, I think it’s a great place for us to try to get back into.”

J.T. Poston won the final iteration of the Shriners Children’s Open with a score of -22.
