Jordan Spieth recently revealed the gruesome injury he suffered during last year’s Open Championship, one that led to an off-season of surgical repair and rehabilitation in hopes of rescuing his form.

Spieth, one of golf’s most beloved players and at one time considered the future of the professional game, has suffered with steady form and consistency in the past few years.

Some of that can be attributed to swing thoughts, and some can be attributed to injury, mostly the latter.

Spieth recently revealed some of the details of the wrist injury that plagued him for much of the 2024 PGA TOUR season. CBS’s Jim Nantz detailed what Spieth told him:

“I got it back in before I hit my tee shot, and that’s when I thought maybe that’s the last straw. Maybe we should probably do something about this. I don’t really feel like playing like this anymore.”

Rumblings of a wrist injury were circulating throughout the PGA TOUR season as Spieth struggled to meet his typical form.

Last year, he made just 14 cuts in 22 tries, posting only three Top 10 finishes. Spieth was never a runner-up and failed to win a tournament last year.

He won just over $2 million last year, and was one of the names that was likely outpaced by the winnings of Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott.

Spieth’s off-season wrist repair, as well as his subsequent rehab, will be a hot topic early in the year as fans will keep a close eye on his form.
