AT&T Fans Eye View

Last week’s “Fan’s Eye View” provided us with a front row seat for a number exciting experiences from the 2015 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am by allowing us to peer through the eyes of four remarkable people.  The foursome included military veteran Tim Lang, First Tee mentor Katie Horsford, Dan McLaughlin of The Dan Plan, and Tiffany Fitzgerald of Black Girls Golf.  AT&T Network enabled HTC devices in hand, the foursome captured, snapped, and shared their way through a week they’ll never forget.

To celebrate 30 years at Pebble Beach, AT&T gave 4 remarkable people a VIP experience and unprecedented behind the scenes access to this year’s tournament. Their week long mission was to give the world a Fan’s Eye View of this one-of-a-kind stop on the PGA Tour.

Following along with the foursome’s social media channels fans everywhere were able to see what it’s like to be a part of the tournament’s illustrious 30 year history.  The foursome’s experiences also exposed fans to many of the PGA TOUR’s lesser-known influences, including the extensive charity work surrounding many tournaments, the ever-evolving world of golf equipment technology, and so much more.

Highlights from this Year’s “Fan’s Eye View”

The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is easily the most star-packed PGA TOUR event of the season.  Each year we look forward to watching stars of stage and screen take a crack at one of golf’s most hallowed courses.  This year the foursome was right in the mix, rubbing elbows and trading stories with Hollywood’s elite.  One of our personal favorite moments included this impromptu meet up with the legendary Bill Murray:

Here, as well, is a side of the camera we don’t always get to see, as Tiffany Fitzgerald shares an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the #ATTPROAM trackers operation:

The lucky few who were selected for this year’s “Fan’s Eye View” received the full PGA TOUR star treatment, even getting a little time in the press table’s hot seat.

But perhaps the biggest perk was the foursome’s unprecedented access to walk the grounds, and even play 18 holes at the historic Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Looking Forward

With all the pessimistic commentary lately alleging a steady decline in the popularity of golf it’s truly encouraging to see programs like this year’s AT&T “Fan’s Eye View” shining a light on what the sport is really all about.  It’s experiences like this that help to lift the veil of separation and bring fans right into the mix at professional golf events.  By leveraging the power of social media AT&T’s “Fan’s Eye View” was able to do something quite rare, that is letting real fans experience and share a first-hand account of one of the PGA TOUR’s most revered events.

Programs like this are exactly what the sport needs to increase interest and engagement, especially among younger players and fans.  We hope this year’s “Fan’s Eye View” is a sign of more of the outstanding things to come as both technology and the sport of golf continue to evolve for future generations.
