Spieth and Smylie Go Fishing, Hilarity Ensues

Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman gave us a bit of a sneak preview of #SB2K17 as they took to the ocean to do a little post-round fishing yesterday.

Thankfully, some of it was caught on tape.

First, the boys were interviewed, while showing off their extraordinary dad-bods, and Kauffman readily admits he has no business even holding a fishing rod.

They did manage to talk a little golf, I mean how could you not when one of your bros shoots a 59.

But let’s get back to what really matters. The fishing…or, in Smylie’s case, the attempt at fishing.

This is basically what you would call a “breakfast ball” in my golf circle. You know, that first tee shot of the day that you pound directly into the ground. The one where your golf pals give you mercy and mutter, “take another one, man.”

Or you know, something like this:

It gets way better, though. Jordan and Smylie decide to head out into the open seas via kayak.

Of course, the inevitable happens and it’s hilarious.

Alls well that ends well, however. Although they lost the fishing poles, the cell phone was recovered!

Golf Channel or Skratch or somebody needs to get these two, along with JT and Rickie, their own television show. They’re not just the next generation of talented golfers, but they’re also legitimately funny and entertaining guys. They don’t take themselves too seriously and seem genuine.

That’s a reality show I’d absolutely watch.
