Brawling English Golfer Bites Police Officer
Last Friday, a few members of the West Cornwall Golf Club were celebrating a successful round of golf at the Tregenna Castle Hotel. Apparently, the celebration was a little too rowdy and police were called to quell the golfers before anything got out of hand.
After arriving on scene to break up a fight that had started the officers came upon anything but a calm scene.
According to reports, once the officers arrived, a melee broke out among the club members and the officers, resulting in minor injuries to both the members and the officers. Some of the injuries that the officers suffered are quite interesting with one being bitten and another getting punched while attempting to give first aid to an injured bystander.
3 officers assaulted last night in Cornwall:
1 bitten by female prisoner in St Ives.
1 punched whilst giving first aid to an injured male in Camborne.
No details available on third.

Biting is certainly an interesting way of fighting off the police and one that will surely get creativity points. The most ironic part of this situation, however, is that the brawlers are big golfers, which as we all know is “a gentleman’s game.”
As for the woman that was actually arrested for biting the officer, she ended up receiving a slew of criminal charges. Bethany Glasson, 22, gained a whole laundry list of charges that included, “assault by beating, criminal damage, assault of a police officer in execution of their duty and using threatening words or behavior.”
While we all get frustrated with the game of golf from time to time, we all need to remember to relax and keep cool heads. So next time you find yourself aggravated by the game, make sure to keep your hands, and teeth, to yourself.
