Jason Dufner and Brandel Chamblee Exchange Heated Words in Twitter Feud
For being such a gentleman’s sport, golf can sometimes get surrounded by a lot of fighting. One fight that was recently brought to the forefront involves a current PGA TOUR player and a Golf Channel analyst.
Brandel Chamblee is a pretty prominent, yet unpopular figure on the Golf Channel but he does get a lot of attention, especially on Twitter. Chamblee deals with a lot of twitter trolls and has no problem blocking those he doesn’t like. In fact, Chamblee has bragged that he has blocked over 20,000 twitter users. One of the most recent victims of his blocking spree, however, is Jason Dufner. And Dufner is not happy about it.
To avoid getting blocked, Chamblee asks two things of Twitter users, keep things cordial and no cussing. Dufner didn’t follow either of those rules when talking about Chamblee. Dufner recently came to the defense of his swing coach, Chuck Cook, after Chamblee had criticized him at a teaching seminar. Among other things, Dufner, while not naming Chamblee directly, said the criticizer needs to “shut his f–king mouth.”
I did use profane language.. I am not a golf machine advocate, never read the book so that’s not correct.. and I didn’t fight or yell about anything. And he isn’t qualified to debate anything on golf swing theory.. this guy is so full of himself it comical.. pic.twitter.com/IKXPZgi0nG

That was apparently enough for Chamblee to block the five-time PGA TOUR champion, and Dufner was not pleased, going on a Twitter rant in response. “Best part of my day.. when people aren’t educated in what they are saying, they run and hide from the truth,”

Dufner tweeted. “It’s to keep what they have going and not be exposed for being a fraud.”
The fact is @chambleebrandel continues to throw many of my friends on tour, respected teachers, and other in the golf world under the bus. In no way is he helping promote what we do, only trying to promote his agenda. And someone had to call him out on it. #nofactsonlyeditoral

This isn’t the first time that Chamblee has come under fire from PGA TOUR players on Twitter. Just about a month ago, he and Billy Horschel had some words after Horschel didn’t think Chamblee had the right to critique Tiger Woods’ swing while he was rehabbing. Rory McIlroy also trolled Chamblee after he mocked anyone who copied Tiger’s weightlifting. McIlroy posted a video of him doing squats as a response.
While you would think that Chamblee’s two simple rules wouldn’t cause so much Twitter drama, he seems to get in a lot of scuffles with players. Maybe the best solution for him moving forward would be to delete his social media for good.
