Justin Rose Will Have Long Time Caddie Mark Fulcher Back for The Masters
The Masters will certainly be filled with stories that make legends out of the participants this week but the players aren’t the only ones looking to create memories. This year, the Masters will be more special than ever for caddie Mark Fulcher.
“Fooch” as he’s known in the golf world will be back working Rose’s bag this week after a long layoff that he had following heart surgery. Fooch hasn’t talked much about his surgery, which was certainly a major operation, but has stated that he’ll be happy to be back on the course with Rose. And together, the group will be looking to get Rose his first green jacket.
Even without Fooch on the bag, Rose has been considered a large favorite as he’s sitting at the no. 2 player in the world heading to Augusta.
Without his long-time friend on the bag, Rose has done well this year, taking home three top-ten finishes as well as a big win at the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year. But Rose will be happy to have Fooch back with him heading into the biggest event of the year.

Where Rose thinks Fooch will be most helpful to him is once the tournament hits the weekend. “I think I’m very comfortable if I had anybody caddie for me Thursday, Friday, we’d be in good shape,” Rose said. “It’s when the going gets tough, I think that’s when having someone who knows you so well and we have so many positive experiences we can draw on together, that’s where Fooch is going to come into his own for me.”
And the going will certainly be tough for Rose if he makes it to the weekend. Fooch looks ready to go, however, as he’s been slowly getting back to the game and his feel for carrying the bag. Even though he wasn’t cleared for actual tournaments until this week, he made an appearance at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, even carrying Rose’s bag during his practice rounds.
Rose looks ready for the competition at Augusta this week and having his caddie just as ready has to give him even more confidence heading into the week. Only time will tell if Fooch’s return will lead to a big major win for Rose but having him back at his side will certainly help Rose this weekend and the rest of the season.
