With the start of the calendar year, there are a few things you can, more or less, guarantee: new equipment launches and new player signings chiefly among them.

This year has been no exception, with Callaway announcing the Mavrik, TaylorMade releasing the SIM, Wilson Golf, thus far, introducing the new Staff Model Wedges and D7 Forged Irons. But that certainly doesn’t mean the dust has settled.

Indeed, Wilson Golf recently announced that Kevin Tway has signed a deal to join its Advisory Staff. Starting at the Hawaii Open being hosted at Waiʻalae Country Club from January 9th to 12th, 2020, Tway will debut the new D7 Forged Irons as well as its acclaimed V6 irons. Tway’s short game will be powered by the all-new Staff Model wedges.

As an Advisory Staff member, Tway will provide valuable insights on and test future Wilson Golf clubs and balls.

“We are thrilled to have Kevin join the Wilson team,” Wilson Golf President, Tim Clarke. “Kevin’s skill and passion for golf enhance our presence on Tour, and he will help us reach and design equipment for the next generation of golfers. Kevin is a perfect fit for our culture and the team we’re building.”

Tway added, “I couldn’t be happier to join forces with Wilson. I’m confident that my new equipment will take my game to the next level in 2020 and beyond. I look forward to working closely with Wilson to help develop new products and pave the way for the golfers of the future.”

adidas Golf also broken some news with its signing of Daniel Berger to a multi-year contract that includes him wearing adidas headwear, apparel, footwear and accessories on the course.

Berger is one of the upcoming stars on the PGA Tour. After earning his PGA Tour card in 2014, Berger put together a remarkable 2015 campaign—made the cut in 17 of 31 events, with six top-10 finishes—that resulted in him being voted him as the PGA Tour’s Rookie of the Year.

At the beginning of the 2017 PGA Tour Season, Berger began using Callaway clubs and balls after switching over from TaylorMade, which assisted him in successfully defending his FedEx St. Jude Classic title and moving to 24th in the world. By July 2017, he was ranked 20th in the world.

Since then, Berger has finished tied for 6th place at the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and secured himself a spot on the 2017 U.S. Presidents Cup team, where he went 2-1-0 in his matches and clinched the winning point for the U.S. team.

“adidas is truly dedicated to making the best products for golfers everywhere,” said Berger. “I was wearing the 3-Stripes for my first win as a professional and I’m really looking forward to representing the adidas brand once again on the course.”

Daniel Berger will be joining Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Sergio Garciaand Joaquin Niemann on the adidas roster.
