Herman played some of the best golf of his career over the weekend, carding a Saturday 61 and a final round 63. Played the first 5 holes on Sunday at -4, and birdied 3 of his last 6 holes to get into the lead. His shot of the day was his stinger driver, which would make even Tiger shed a tear. Jim won a tournament last year, but failed to make it to the FedEx Cup playoffs. This year, this win gets him into the playoffs next week. A $100 bet on Herman to win this week would have made you a cool $50,000.

Billy Horschel looked like he was in the driver’s seat to win the tournament, as he played his first 6 holes -4. A late bogey on 16 would push him back, and he was unable to make a birdie on 17 or 18 to take back a share of the lead. Billy ranked 2nd in Strokes Gained: Putting this week, and hit over 80% of fairways.

Si Woo Kim entered the final round with the lead, but failed to make any progress on Sunday. A double bogey on 6 pushed him out of contention, although he was able to get back to even par for his round. He finishes T3, and continues to show how much he loves this golf course.

Webb Simpson also finished T3, making his last 3 finishes at this tournament T2, 2nd, T3. He loves this place, and continues to play really good golf. He shot a final round -5, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Jim’s -7.

Kevin Kisner has been trending in the right direction over the last 3 weeks, and it showed with his play this week. Kiz shoots a final round -6, and finishes T3. The only part of his game that he struggled with was around the greens, as he lost almost a shot to the field. He’ll be a guy to watch heading into the playoffs next week.

World Top Player Finishes

Tommy Fleetwood over Brooks Koepka (+110) (Cashed)

Next week is the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs at TPC Boston for the Northern Trust. Field will be loaded, and I’m sure we’re in for an amazing 3-week stretch.

I grew up in southern New Hampshire, where I first fell in love with the game of golf. I started by just going out and messing around with my buddies and focusing purely on having a good time! I never took golf seriously until I moved down to Tampa, FL to attend the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! At the start of my junior year I got a job working as a cart boy at a local private country club. This is when I started to focus on golf becoming my career. During the fall of my senior year, I turned from a 14 handicap, to a 2. I passed the PAT scoring test my first try and haven't looked back.
