Fantasy Golf Sleeper Report – The Dell Technologies Championship
2018 Dell Technologies ChampionshipFantasy Sleeper Report
One week of the FedExCup post-season playoffs down, three to go.
Bryson DeChambeau kicked things off in fine style by winning The Northern Trust last week with a comfortable four-stroke victory over Tony Finau and the rest of the field. It was a triumph for golfing science, with DeChambeau seemingly hopelessly out of form lately.
But sticking to the principles that you believe in is often crucial for long-term success, and the 24-year-old’s methods – love them or not – clearly work for him.

DeChambeau is now ranked number one in the FedExCup standings, with 98 of the 99 players below him – the absentee is Francesco Molinari, who has decided to have the week off – teeing up at this week’s Dell Technologies Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.
This Arnold Palmer layout was given something of a rework by Gil Hanse and Brad Faxon in 2007, although the overall emphasis is on a general ease of scoring – there are birdie opportunities and holes where making par is key, with driveable Par 4s and tricky Par 5s both making their presence felt at a course where the front nine is markedly easier than the back nine.
The generously-proportioned fairways are fringed with long fescue grass, while the Bentgrass greens run rather fast on the stimpmeter – although potentially slowed by rain showers that have been forecast.
Justin Thomas is our defending champion – he bested Jordan Spieth 12 months ago, and the list of recent winners is a rather classy affair with Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson, Rickie Fowler and Webb Simpson all featuring.
Is there scope for a sleeper to win the Dell Technologies Championship? You bet, but which should you be focusing on?
