Saratoga National Golf Club – Saratoga Springs, NY
Golficity Rating:
The beautiful Saratoga National Golf Club offers a true Saratoga feel, from horseshoes on the tee boxes to decorative horses around the grounds. The 18-hole course offers a unique challenge to all skill levels and surrounding water engulfs a few holes on the back nine.
The 7,265 yard track (from the longest tees) plays a par 72 but don’t underestimate the hazards and carries that cradle some of the fairways. The beautiful 15th hole par-3 sits as a “island” that requires a 160+ yard carry over nothing but water. The course rating is 74.5 and it has a slope rating of 143 on Bent grass.
As you enter the grounds, the long drive to the bag drop takes you past numerous holes and offers a surreal view of the luscious green track. Fairways are kept in pristine shape and the greens play fast.
You wont event be permitted to carry your own clubs as the employees are very gracious to get you situated with ease. Built in coolers and GPS in the golf carts are just some of the many amenities offered at this beautiful club. Enjoy the complimentary driving, putting, and chipping ranges (with sand bunkers and ball pickup machines) as you get warmed up before your round.
As you enter the locker room, you are welcome to have your golf shoes re-spiked and polished free of charge, as you enjoy a cold beverage while watching the golf channel. The pro shop has an abundance of golf gear and apparel – and the delicious Prime Steakhouse offers a hearty meal before or after your round is complete.
Golf Digest has awarded Saratoga National Golf Club some of its most prestigious awards, including it in its “Best in State” rankings for 2007-2008.
