19-Year-Old Akshay Bhatia Birdies Last to Make Cut at US Open

Akshay Bhatia is out to prove that age is just a number…well, Phil proved that a few weeks ago, but at only 19, Bhatia has shown poise and guts as he tries to make his name known at the US Open.

Needing a birdie on the last to make the cut on the number, Bhatia played his heart out on the last hole and secured his spot for the weekend.

Being the youngest in the field didn’t seem to phase him one bit as the lefty knocked a chip shot from the rough tight to the pin, and calmly sunk the putt to move him to +4, just inside the cut line.

A great showing for the youngster, who will be the first out this morning.
