NEWS: The PGA TOUR Partners with Amazon Web Services
The PGA Tour and Amazon Web Services have announced that they will partner up and give spectators more access to past, present, and future professional golf events.
In a world where most broadcasters and television services have taken on streaming, the PGA sees no better way to bring fans closer to the sport than bringing the TOUR to an all-access, online platform.
The PGA Tour’s new partnership with Amazon Web Services means what?
– Fans will have live access to every shot from every player
– Speed rounds and new camera angles
– Growing The First Tee
– A “data lake” with nearly 100 years of content https://t.co/diKk3x24B3— Adam Woodard (@AdamWoodard) March 2, 2021
For spectators and lovers of the sport, Amazon Web Services will initiate Every Shot Live, an application which allows users to stream every shot that is hit by every player on the PGA TOUR. The app will allow fans free access throughout seasons every Thursday round (first round), but will switch to a subscription-based service on rounds two through four.
With the new partnership with AWS, TOUR fans will also gain access to never-before-seen camera angles, advanced statistics, and round breakdowns using the TOURCast service.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, archived media will be available to the consumer dating all the way back to the Los Angeles Open in 1928. That’s a lot of golf content.
This partnership is a giant leap forward for golf and its fans, as it provides unlimited access to virtually anything that happens on the golf course. Usually on broadcasts, cameras only focus on one player and their ball at a time; with AWS, fans will be able to see everything in real-time.
