“Significant Changes” Made To Augusta National Ahead Of 2022 Masters
Augusta National has undergone some “significant changes” which will lengthen the course ahead of the 86th Masters in April.
The two holes affected are the par-4 11th hole and the par-5 15th hole.

The 11th hole will now play 520 yards making the historically difficult hole event more difficult.
This is what the 2022 Masters media guide says about the hole:
“Masters tees moved back 15 yards and to the golfer’s left. Fairway recontoured and several trees removed on right side.”

The 15th hole will now play 550 yards to make the second-easiest hole on the course just a little bit harder.
The media guide says:
“Tees moved back 20 yards and fairway recontoured.”
As we close out the shots of Augusta National, I’ve had a lot of requests for views of the green at the 15th – as you can see, it’s shallow and domed and guarded front and back by short, sloped grass leading to ponds. The course will now play 7,510 yards as a par 72 for the 2022 Masters.
It will be interesting to see how these changes affect the scores this year. Although it’s not a lot of extra distance, every yard counts in the game of golf.
