Sam Burns Wins The Valspar Championship
Sam Burns wins the Valspar Championship in a two hole playoff making birdie on the second playoff hole to secure the win over Davis Riley. Burns shot 17-under on the week to secure his second victory in the 2021-2022 PGA TOUR season and his third win in his career.
Burns also repeated at the Valspar for the second time in the history of the event with Paul Casey being the other in 2018 and 2019. Burns’ victory makes for the fourth repeat winner on TOUR this season.

Riley finished T1 and runner up in the playoff also at 17-under. Justin Thomas and Matthew NeSmith finished T3 at 16-under, and Matthew Fitzpatrick and Brian Harman finished T5 at 14-under to round out the top 5 on the week.
Burns becomes the first back to back winner at the Valspar Championship since Paul Casey in 2018-2019.
The Florida Swing has come to an end as the PGA TOUR heads to Austin, Texas for the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play which starts on Wednesday, where Bryson DeChambeau is set to return to the TOUR after dealing with hand and hip injuries for many weeks. Defending 2021 champion Billy Horschel will also be in the field to try and defend his title.
