After an impressive opening round at The Masters, Tiger Woods took some time to appreciate the patrons in the gallery.

An affable and approachable Tiger took the time to speak to reporters, going into depth on the atmosphere that so many had missed for so long.

Tiger went on to say:

“I hadn’t played like this since ‘19 when I won, because in ‘20 we had Covid and we had no one here, and I didn’t play last year. So to have the patrons fully out and to have that type of energy out there was awesome to feel.”

Reflecting on round 1, Scottie Scheffler noted the frenetic crowds cheering on Tiger Woods.

In a light moment, Scottie stated that when he heard a loud road, he “thought it was Tiger making birdie,” but it was Joaquin making eagle, and he cracked a smile.

The play of Mr. Woods undoubtedly helped to electrify the atmosphere. Carding three birdies and two bogies to finish -1 and in the red, with his putter bailing him out along the way.

Tiger drained 10 footers on 1 and 18 to save par, and made an 8 footer to save par on the 9th.

As round two is set to begin, the atmosphere will undoubtedly continue to build momentum as Tiger treads through the Augusta Bermuda grass.

He’s back, and the atmosphere is certainly electric.
