John Daly and John Daly II Ink NIL Partnership With Hooters

They’re not just wings, and now there’s not just one John Daly partnering with Hooters. On Tuesday, the father-son duo announced that they would be signing a NIL deal focusing on marketing campaigns on digital platforms, with a heavy presence on social media.

John Daly has been revered for his blue collar persona for years, known for smoking cigarettes on the course, participating in no physical training, and hydrating with Diet Cokes from Mcdonald’s to fuel an athlete at peak performance. Now, the Dalys will be brand ambassadors for the world famous restaurant.

New to the collegiate athletic landscape, NIL deals focus on the name, image, and likeness of a collegiate athlete and enable each individual to engage in sponsorship deals that endorse their personal brand. If it seems fitting, John Daly has had a long standing unofficial relationship with the chicken restaurants, even hosting events at the Augusta location during Masters week with plenty of pageantries.

John Daly II is also new to the collegiate athletic landscape, playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks Division 1 golf team and participating in just one tournament so far, with one round posted under par.

Daly jr is no stranger to the spotlight, having won the 2021 PNC Championship with his father. The Dalys posted a 15 under score to win, edging out Tiger and Charlie Woods by two strokes.

With the new NIL rules opening doors for college athletes to cash in on their likeness finally, it is certainly interesting to see where athletes choose to land. The Dalys have landed at Hooters.
